Henry Barringer

Updated: Oct 2

[Latest update]: 'Barringer's Army' will be attempting to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge - by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all in 24 hours, to raise money for Brain Tumour Research

Due to the forecasted incredibly bad weather across all Three Peaks on the 4th October 2025, with Storm Amy and its yellow weather warning of 95mph winds, we have taken the sad, but sensible decision to postpone our adventure until 30th May 2026. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to this amazing cause so far, we hugely appreciate every penny that has been sent. We are all still very determined to complete this challenge and will be taking no prisoners when heading up those mountains in May!

Those of us that were lucky enough to know Henry appreciate that he was never one to turn down a challenge and with this in mind, our team at Oakbank have decided to take on one of the ultimate tests in the UK. We know that Henry would have been our biggest cheerleader were he taking part with us, helping us along every step of the way with encouraging words, banter and a huge amount of laughter!

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!

May 2024:

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague Henry Barringer, following his brief and incredibly brave battle with a brain tumour. All our love and thoughts are with Henry’s family but especially his wife, Becca, and little boy, Eddie.
