Soil Testing

Many of the problems that we solve for clients are only identified after a thorough soil test has been done.

Oakbank Soil Testing Service

We tend to use a more detailed analysis than most companies because the basic test often misses some vital information.  If you are going to take the time and trouble to sample the plot, you may as well get the whole story and with the cost of fertiliser escalating, one needs to be sure that the correct fertiliser is being used! We provide both the raw data and our interpretation of what needs doing for your chosen crop.  The majority of samples that we receive have significant deficiencies in at least one major element.  If left uncorrected the crop will undoubtedly suffer.

We use the laboratory at Yara Phosyn, who have an excellent website that shows examples of trace element deficiencies in a wide range of crops. To take advantage of this website, click on the link below and select the crop that you are looking for. Please note that Maize is referred to as "Corn" and for all brassicas (Kale, etc) look at "Canola".  Yara Phosyn Website
