Paddock Grass Mix for grazing horses and hay

Our Horse Max Equine Grass Mix is designed for both reseeding and over-seeding in horse paddocks.  It contains a mix of Perennial Ryegrass species, with different growth and maturity characteristics, plus Creeping Red Fescue and Timothy.  It is suitable for general grazing and for an occasional hay cut.
Ryegrass benefits from high levels of fertility and can produce large quantities of highly palatable forage.  This may be inappropriate for your situation so contact Ian Gould at Oakbank for advice on your project.
Pack size    10kg  (seed rate 15kg / Acre)

Grass Margin Mixtures

Our range of seed mixtures for grass margins caters for all the basic requirements that farmers and / or game keepers may have. We can provide a tall tussocky margin for nesting, or a fine grass marin with low productivity, that will produce less material for cutting and allow wild flowers to develop within the sward.  We are always pleased to discuss your requirements and suggest the best products and management plans, plus we can make bespoke mixtures for your site if necessary.

2 Metre Margin

Contains Tall Fescue, Timothy and Creeping Red Fescue.
Seed Rate:  20kg / ha

4 - 6 Metre Margin

This mix is a great all rounder as it offers some tussocky grasses, that will dominate if left uncut, along with the finer fescues that will flourish if cut frequently.  This combination is ideal on the ELS 6 meter option (EE3) as the outside 3 meters can be cut regularly, whilst the inner piece is left to grow tall.
Contains Cocksfoot,  Meadow Fescue,  Sheeps Fescue,  Creeping Red Fescue, Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass and Timothy
Seed Rate:  20kg / ha

Low Ergot Risk Margin

This is the best mix where low productivity is desirable and it contains species that are considered to pose less of an  Ergot contamination risk to cereal crops contains Meadow Fescue,  Sheeps Fescue,  Creeping Red Fescue, Chewings Fescue, Timothy and Common Bent.
