Despite government cutbacks, Higher Level Stewardship is still open for applications. The application process has got more competitive and more directed but agreements are still been offered. Those applicants with ESA or CSS on-farm schemes coming to an end along with those in specific target areas are most likely to receive contracts.

While funds for capital works and assess options have been curtailed at present, there are still funds available for habitat creation and maintenance options including wild bird seed mixes.
