ELS applications

Entry level stewardship applications are open to all farmers in England. The payment of £30/ha for 5 years has not been affected by the recent government cuts and is open to anyone who can make the appropriate commitment to environmental measures. Most farmers can meet the requirements of the schemes quite easily and fit them into their standard arable rotations and land management.  Oakbank are particularly experienced in gearing your ELS scheme to give the largest benefits for game birds and other wildlife, whilst fitting in well with your farming system.

ELS is open for applications all year round.  Some typical options that you might choose would be:

• Over-wintered stubbles
• Wild Bird Seed Mixture
• Nectar Flower Mix
• Grass Margins and Field Corners
• Hedge and / or ditch management
