Commercial Shoots

Oakbank recognize the role that Commercial Shoots have played in making our sport available to so many more people.  The employment opportunities for young keepers are invaluable and they create lots of 3rd party employment in rural areas during the winter.  The word “Commercial” has some negative connotations for some, but it is just about doing something for money (don’t we all?)

Commercial reality always leads to a demand for excellent value and we believe that Oakbank is at the head of the game in this regard.  We offer a total package of products and advice with aftercare throughout the year, a service that we know our clients appreciate.  Many shoots rely completely on cover crops to provide shooting, so there is additional pressure and importance where days are being sold.

Oakbank offer excellent products at an affordable price, coupled with the best advice available about making these crops successful.  We have a great deal of experience in using a mixture of annual and perennial crops to manage your risk and expenditure, but still providing excellent habitat for your game birds.  We realize that some shoots only have a limited time on their tenancies, so they do not want to invest heavily in a crop that takes a few years to deliver properly.  

Oakbank also offer a management service where we can deal with contractors, etc to provide them with the necessary information about how to establish the crops.  We can also offer agronomy visits to give advice on weed control, etc and this has proved very popular with teams that are not resident on their own shoot.
