Oakbank - Game & Conservation Ltd

Richard LeachRichard was born in Kingston, that's Kingston upon Thames not Kingston, Jamaica; dreadlocks would never have suited him! After school Richard enjoyed his time at Plumpton Agricultural College, East Sussex and went on from there to sell compounded farm feeds in the South East. In early 1990 he started his own business supplying feed, as well as farming as a tenant on 525 acres of wet, heavy clay near Guildford, Surrey which certainly gave him some insight into the uncertainties of farming.

Joining Oakbank in 2004, Richard now works as an Agent in southern England, liaising very closely with Ian and Tim to provide the highest levels of service. Richard has supplied game seed for over 15 years and is still dealing with many of his original clients.

Richard has had an association with Dukes and Botley Agriculture Ltd for almost 20 years, becoming a Director of the company in 2006. He is directly involved with the sales and marketing of their Keepers Choice Game Feed, along with the company's range of farm feeds. He has also been involved in marketing Ready-to-Cook Game Meals through Waitrose (Keepers Choice Foods Ltd).

In 2005 Richard packed up the dog, children and wife Justine, to move to the delightful town of Sherborne in Dorset, hoping to grow their own vegetables and perhaps plant a few trees. In an effort to keep fit Richard is a member of the local squash league, but age recently caught up with him as his opponent was too young to buy him a beer! For relaxation Richard often dons rubber, but only to cast a fly for Grayling, his favourite quarry. Fishing is a lifetime passion, another thing he shares with Ian and Tim, and has occasionally found himself in the right place at the right time.
