Perennial Chicory - Video Clip
This video may take a few moments to load properly, in order to show you the detail required. PLEASE TURN ON YOUR SOUND
The film shows Chicory on 3 different sites, all in the second year. The first is in Lincolnshire, on an arable field, where the crop is being used to replace a straw bale surround. The second crop is on the cliff tops in North Devon, battered by wind, rain and salt spray. Finally the last clip shows a crop that has been planted with an old vegetable drill, with a seed hopper on each drill coulter. This has enabled a single species row of either Reed Canary Grass or Perennial Chicory to be planted alternately, with 24" (60cm) between each row.
