Oakbank grows in Yorkshire

Last summer we were approached by Jonathan Hall and Matt Kealey, directors of Skylark Consultancy, a company based at Malton in North Yorkshire, with a view to setting up a joint venture in the North of England. Matt, who is also a director of AgChem Access was finding it difficult to give the time required to running Skylark which meant Jonathan was looking for assistance. Jonathan farms at Kennythorpe but spends most of the spring and early summer with his consulting hat on, advising some of the most prestigious shoots in Yorkshire on their game crops.

Jonathan is very much ‘hands on’ and we liked the way Skylark operated. We therefore offered Jonathan the opportunity to incorporate Skylark into the Oakbank business and we are pleased to announce that, from this spring, Jonathan will be working with us! Not only will Jonathan continue to give his clients excellent advice but it will now be backed up by the Oakbank guarantee, by our seed and by the opening of a new store at High Farm, Kennythorpe, from which customers will be able to collect seed, by arrangement with Jonathan.

This is a terrific opportunity for both parties and we aim to give Jonathan’s existing and new clients the first class advice, seed and service that they have come to expect.
